This whole photography pursuit was spawned when my parents brought home used National Geographic magazines from a second-hand store when I was a young kid, which usually led to at least a couple hours poring over the whole thing cover to cover, reading the articles, and being amazed at the picture quality.

As us 50-somethings live out the latter half of our lives, there seems to be an innate desire to leave behind something of ourselves, somehow doing so with artistic and spiritual signifigance. Hence this web site, and the wonderful experiences of photographing weddings, portraits, tutoring students, and writing instructive articles. I love to bring meaning - even if it's just a bit - to other's lives through the art of photography.
